Scheme Overview

Nagaland Textiles Division, an initiative by the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, preserves traditional weaving, empowers artisans, and boosts the local economy through vibrant tribal craftsmanship. Aligned with the Ministry of Textiles‘ vision, it supports key sectors:

  • Handlooms: Promoted through NHDP(National Handloom Development Programme) and India Handloom Brand (IHB), preserving heritage and supporting weavers.
  • Handicrafts: Enhanced via CHDS( Comprehensive Handlooms Development Scheme), improving artisan clusters with infrastructure and market access.
  • Fashion: Encourages traditional-modern fusion through Samarth Scheme and Bharat Tex.
