ABOUT US

The Department of Industries & Commerce, Nagaland, serves as the key agency for industrial policy formulation and development in the state. It also explores and formulates technically feasible and economically viable industrial projects. The main task of the department is to be the facilitator to the prospective entrepreneurs to set up enterprises and run industrial ventures successfully. Primary responsibilities of the department include:

Policy Formulation

Developing policies that drive industrial growth and establishing technically and economically viable industrial projects.

Entrepreneurial Support

Driving and supporting entrepreneurship through awareness, training, schemes and facilitating funding.

Infrastructure Development

Promoting industrial growth by developing key facilities such as Industrial Growth Centre (IGC) at Ganesh Nagar, Dimapur, Product-Specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), Industrial Infrastructure Development Centre (IIDC) at Kiruphema and proposed Infrastructure Development Centres – Planned at Tuli and Jalukie.

Industrial Corporations

The department has established corporations/companies such as NIDC (Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation), Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (NHHDC), Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre (NTTC), NHL (Nagaland Hotels Limited) and NKVIB (Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board).
